About My Biology Class
Mission Statement
My mission is to create a safe and positive environment that will lead to success. I value respect, persistence and academic
honesty and will strive to model these attitudes at all times. I believe that all students can learn and that knowledge empowers
them to be better world citizens.
Expectations, Rules and Materials
Please read the following very carefully!
Expectations:
1. Homework will consist of reading assignments and study guide sections.
2. This will, by no means, be an "easy" class. Expect to work for your grade.
3. Please read! It will be easier to understand the topics discussed in class. (We will also be able to move quickly
through the textbook and articles!)
4. I hope you discover that Biology can be a lot of fun.
Class agreement.
Please print and read the following, sign it and have one of your parents ( or guardian) sign it as well.
1. Be respectful
-To each other. Follow the Golden Rule
-About property. Ask first!
-To school rules
2. Come prepared
-Do your homework
-Bring materials to class
-Study for tests
3. Be on Time:
-Be punctual to class
-Have a late pass from last teacher if it is unavoidable.
-Hand in work in a timely manner
4. Be honest
-Do your own work
-Let me know how you feel
5. Disconnect
-Put away or turn off phones
-Use computers for note-taking only
To my athletes and travelers:
You are expected to arrange assessment-taking BEFORE you leave for a game or a trip. Not after! Besides, after a game
(or a trip) you will possibly be too tired to study for a makeup test!
Remember Materials!!
1. Notebook for class ( Even if you use laptop for notes)
2. You may use pencil or pen. You pick!
3. Textbook (bring it every day!)
